The Damiano gambit of the Petroff (also known as Russian) Defense goes:
1.e4 e5 2.Nf3 Nf6 3.Nxe5 Nxe4 4.Qe2 Qe7 (other moves should lose instantly...) 5.Qxe4 d6 and that's the point. It appears this was played by Damiano back then in 1512

Now 6.d4 looks like the best move and white should have an advantage here.

I remember i faced 3...Nxe4 only once in my life but i had not good knowledge about this Gambit and avoided the main line. I was lucky enough to win, but a spectator after the game asked me why i didn't play 4.Qe2 "winning immediately". well, things are not that easy for White! this could be a good surprise weapon for a blitz game...
