The Open Games Powerbook 2014 (Chessbase)
The Open Games Powerbook 2014 (Chessbase):-
http://www.solidfiles.com/d/9fbb15b4b1/TOGPB2014CB.7z
The numerous possible transitions make it only logical to bring
together in the large Open Powerbook 2014 all the other open games
(except the Ruy Lopez). It will consist predominantly of engine games
(195 000), with in addition top class material from Mega (23 000) and
a small number of correspondence games (1000). This allows one to make
interesting comparisons: is the Scotch "better" than the Italian? Or
is one better trying the Four Knights Game straight away? And how
should one continue? Instead of 4.Bb5 it is also worth considering
4.d4 and 4.g3, but in the Powerbook it is 4.h3!? which comes in second
position with a sensational 8500 games and a result of 58%. Some
completely original theory has been developing here, along the lines
of 4...Bb4 5.Bd3!? and later a3 intending dxc3 or b4, so as to then
develop the Bc1. Such discoveries make it easy for you to fashion some
surprise weapons for your own repertoire.
